fastened to one of the connection holes on the head whether using
plastic or metal delivery pipes.
6- ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The motor must be only started by trained and expert personnel.
The electrical connections must be performed by expert personnel.
The
O3-H3
PSC single-phase motors require a starting capacitor (Fig. 3a).
The proper capacitor type is shown on the rating plate on each motor.
On the
O2-H2
2-Wire motors, the capacitor is already built-in.
For the correct electrical connection, refer to the rated values and the wiring diagram shown on the
motor rating plate, as well as the safety instructions described below. The following information only
refers to the motor and does not provide any indications on the control devices installed upstream.
Fuses and motor protection devices
1- An external switch must be fitted (Fig. 16) so as to be able to isolate system at any time;
2- An emergency stop device must be fitted;
3- Suitable fuses must be fitted for each phase;
4- The
O2-H2
2-Wire motors (Fig. 5a), on the other hand, can be connected directly to the power supply
line, being fitted with a built-in motor protector; for the
O3-H3
PSC motors (Fig. 5a) and
OT-HTF
three-phase motors (Fig. 5b), a motor protector must be fitted in the control panel.
- By lacking of motor protection warranty expired;
- Motor protection in accordance with EN 60947-4-1;
- Trip time <10 s to 5 x I
n
;
- Calibration at working current (max. I
n
).
Earth connection
For the sizing of the ground connection, the power of the motor must be calculated according to IEC
364-5-54 and EN 60034-1
– The motor must be ground connected.
– Ensure the good contact of the ground wire connection.
It is recommended to fit lightening protection on the system control equipment.
7- SAFETY INSTRUCTION
Fig. 6, caution: carefully read the instructions for use, in particular the operating limits.
Fig. 7: please check that the tension and the frequency of the motor is correct for the power supply.
Fig. 8: the mains and earth connections must be made by qualified personnel.
Fig. 9: the pump is not suitable for pumping flammable or dangerous liquids.
Fig. 10: do not operate the pump dry. The pump must be fully submerged in order to avoid damage.
Fig. 11: you are forbidden to use the supply cable for raising the pump from the well or transporting it.
Fig. 12: all sand and solid particles must be bled from the well; the motor will not operate correctly if it is
partially or totally submerged in the sand.
Fig. 13-17: caution: the section of the electrical cable running downwards must be sized according to its
length and the current absorbed by the motor.
Fig. 14: caution: the pump can fall into the well. you are advised to use a safety cable at all times.
Fig. 15: use the pump within the limits of the Q-H rating plate specifications.
8- MAINTENANCE
Disconnect the pump from the mains before performing any repair or maintenance operation.
During normal operation the pump does not require any type of programmed maintenance.
you are advised to periodically check the pressure supplied and the current absorption.
A reduction in the pressure supplied may be due to wear of the pump whereas greater current absorption
indicates abnormal mechanical friction in the motor or pump.
