• Ensure scaffold parts are protected from the influences of weather while
in storage.
• During transport to and from the place of storage, the scaffold parts must be
secured to prevent sliding and impact.
• Do not throw the scaffold parts during loading and unloading.
4.4 Inspecting the scaffold components
Do not continue to use any components that are found to be defective.
Push-on end frame
• Check for deformation, dents or cracks, in particular on the plastic
coupling pins.
Braces (diagonal / railings)
• Check for deformation, dents, cracks and proper functioning of
the fastening elements.
Platform
• Check for deformation, dents, cracks and proper functioning of
the fastening elements.
• Check the condition of the wood.
• Check that the trapdoors are working properly.
Toeboards
• Check the condition of the wood and plastic.
• Check the toeboards for cracks.
Swivel castors
• Check that the wheels run smoothly and that the brake prevents the castors
rolling and turning.
• For a height-adjustable swivel castor, also check that the height adjuster can
be moved easily.
• Check the fail-safe device (wing bolt, locking pin) on the chassis beam and
base frame.
Spring clips
• Check for deformation, dents, cracks and proper fit.
