4.2 Lubrication System

Proper tools
(a)
Loosen and remove service belts.
(b)
Remove the crankshaft pulley.
(c)
Remove the gear case cover.
(d)
Remove the lube oil pump cover from the gear
case cover.
(e)
Remove the pressure regu- lating valve from the
lube oil pump cover.
(f)
Check if the pump rotates smoothly and see that
there is no play between the shaft and gear, and
inner rotor.
(g)
Insert a gap gauge between the outer rotor and the gear case
cover, and measure outside diameter gap.
(h)
Put a ruler on the end face of the gear case cover, and insert a
gap gauge between rotor, and measure a side gap.
(i)
Insert a gap gage between an outer rotor and an inner rotor,
and measure the tip clearance.
