Figure C.1 CE Mark
The CE mark indicates compliance with European safety and environmental regulations and
is required for engaging in business and commerce in Europe.
European standards include the Machinery Directive for machine manufacturers, the Low
Voltage Directive for electronics manufacturers and the EMC guidelines for controlling noise.
This drive displays the CE mark based on the EMC guidelines and the Low Voltage Directive.

CE Low Voltage Directive Compliance
This drive has been tested according to IEC/EN 61800-5-1, and it fully complies with the Low
Voltage Directive.
To comply with the Low Voltage Directive, be sure to meet the following conditions when
combining this drive with other devices:

Area of Use
Do not use drives in areas with pollution higher than severity 2 and overvoltage category 3 in
accordance with IEC/EN 664.

Factory Recommended Branch Circuit Protection
Yaskawa recommends installing one of the following types of branch circuit protection to
maintain compliance with UL508C. Semiconductor protective type fuses are preferred.

NOTICE: If a fuse is blown or an Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) is tripped, check the wiring and the
selection of peripheral devices to identify the cause. Contact Yaskawa before restarting the drive or the
peripheral devices if the cause cannot be identified.
