1. Spark plug

Check the spark plug condition.

Check the spark plug type.

Check the spark plug gap.
Refer to the “SPARK PLUG INSPECTION”
section in the CHAPTER 3.

CORRECT

2. Ignition spark gap

Disconnect the spark plug cap from spark
plug.

Connect  the  dynamic  spark  tester

  as

shown.

Check the ignition spark gap

Start engine, and increase spark gap until
misfire occurs.

Minimum spark gap:

6.0 mm (0.24 in)

 Use the following special tools in this troubleshooting.

Pocket tester:

YU-03112

Standard spark plug:

BPR7HS (NGK)

Spark plug gap:

0.6~0.7 mm(0.02~0.03 in)

INCORRECT

Spark plug is faulty, replace it or repair plug
gap.

MEETS SPECIFICATION

Ignition system is good.
