REMOVAL POINTS

EC4D3101

Primary drive gear and balancer weight
gear
1. Loosen:

• Bolt (primary drive gear)

NOTE:

Place an aluminum plate

between the teeth

of the balancer drive gear

and balancer

weight gear

2. Loosen:

• Nut (balancer weight gear)

NOTE:

Straighten the lock washer

tab and place an

aluminum plate

between the teeth of the

balancer drive gear

and balancer weight

gear

3. Remove:

• Bolt (primary drive gear)

• Primary drive gear

• Balancer drive gear

• Nut (balancer weight gear)

• Lock washer

• Balancer weight gear

NOTE:

It may sometimes happens that the primary
drive gear and balancer drive gear are fitted
too tight as in force fitting. In that case, use a
general gear puller to remove them without too
much force on the crankshaft.

Balancer shaft
1. Remove:

• Balancer shaft

NOTE:

When removing the balancer shaft, align the
center of the balancer shaft weight

along

the line connecting the centers of the crank-
shaft and balancer shaft.
