Parking Brake Lever
WARNING
Correct adjustment is necessary to provide adequate braking. See the Main-
tenance section for adjustment procedures.
Always apply the parking brake when leaving the lift truck.
NOTE:
There is a sensor in the seat that actuates an audible alarm. If the operator
leaves the seat, with either system power
ON
or
OFF
, without applying the parking
brake, the alarm will sound for 10 seconds.
The lift truck is equipped with a lever to apply the parking brake. Pull the lever to
apply the parking brake. Use your thumb to release the button on the lever when the
lever is moved to release the parking brake.
On units with a Foot Directional Control pedal, applying the parking brake puts the
transmission in
NEUTRAL
. The parking brake must be fully applied for the grade or
surface conditions when operator leaves the lift truck. The lift truck can be started
with the park brake applied.
