Checking and maintaining the rope sheave
Relieve rope tension.
Check rope sheaves for wear. We recommend a test by our competent personnel. It
is also necessary to ensure smooth running, which indicates that the ball bearing is in
good condition.
Checking the wear limits
Wear limits on one side and in the groove

Wear limits on both sides and in the groove
base
Wear limits in the groove base
Measure the wall thickness with a special caliper
Measure the groove base depth with a depth gauge
Checking the wear limits
Measure wall thickness “t” with a special caliper.
Measure groove base depth “h” with a depth gauge.
If the measured values exceed or fall short of the values in the table:
Replace the rope sheave.
