Make sure that the new SET POINT pressure value
is within the range of the head indicated on the data
plate of the pump.
8 Maintenance
Precautions
WARNING:
• Observe accident prevention regula-
tions in force.
• Use suitable equipment and protec-
tion.
• Always refer to the local and/or na-
tional regulations, legislation, and co-
des in force regarding the selection of
the installation site, plumbing, and
power connections.
8.1 General maintenance
Electrical Hazard:
Before any service or maintenance, dis-
connect the system from the power sup-
ply and wait at least 2 minutes before
starting work on or in the unit.
Turn off and unplug the system before in-
stalling the unit or carrying out mainte-
nance.
• Converter models MMW09, MTW10, MMA06,
and MTA06 do not require any routine mainte-
nance when used within the limits that are indi-
• Converter models MMA12 and MTA10: depend-
ing on the type of environment, for example if
there is dust in the air, check (every 6–12
months) the working order of the radiator cooling
fan.
• Converter models MMA and MTA: if necessary,
and in relation to the type of environment, re-
move any dust or other material that has settled
on the dissipator.
• The pumps do not require any routine mainte-
nance. Refer to the manual provided with the
pump.
• Check the air precharge value of the diaphragm
tank, when applicable, a minimum of once a
year.
• It is advisable to periodically check correct trig-
gering of the high sensitivity differential switch
(30 mA) [RCD, residual current device] suited to
the ground fault current with pulsed or direct
components (we recommend a device with Type
B characteristic) and connected to the power line
of the converter.
9 Troubleshooting
Introduction
In addition to the alarm troubleshooting guide in
, we also provide a guide for troubleshoot-
ing other possible problems.
Electrical Hazard:
• Make sure that all connections are
performed by qualified installation
technicians and in compliance with
the regulations in force.
• Always disconnect and lock out pow-
er before servicing to prevent unex-
pected startup. Failure to do so could
result in death or serious injury.
• Wait a minimum of two minutes be-
fore opening the converter.
9.1 Faults, causes, and remedies
The pump does not run, the main switch is on
and none of the LEDs are illuminated
Cause
Solution
No power supply Restore the power supply and
check that the mains connection
is intact.
Triggered over-
load circuit
breaker
Reset the overload circuit break-
er.
Triggered ground
fault protective
device or circuit
breaker
Reset the differential protection.
Main fuse of the
converter blown
Replace the fuse.
In the case of
single-phase
pumps, the motor
condenser is
faulty.
Replace the condenser if it is an
external one. Contact the local
sales and service representative
if it is an internal condenser.
Triggered ground
fault protective
device
• Reset the differential protec-
tion.
• Replace the differential pro-
tection AC type with A or B
type.
• Install a differential protection
exclusive line converter sup-
ply immediately upstream of
the main electricity supplier.
The pump starts up but blows the converter fuse
Cause
Solution
Damaged power cable, the mo-
tor short circuits, or thermal pro-
tector or fuses are not suited for
the motor current.
Check and re-
place the compo-
nents as neces-
sary.
Triggered thermal overload
switches on single-phase motors
or protective device on three-
phase motors, due to excessive
current input.
Check the oper-
ating conditions
of the pump.
Missing a phase in the power
supply.
Correct the pow-
er supply.
The utilities are closed and the electric pump
runs at intermittent speeds
