which are used by the PZ-TIO to enable data
acquisition starting at TON and ending at TON+DUR.
The PZ-TIO time stamp counter is reset to 0 at TON.
The functions provided by
ptp-mii-tool
are useful but optional for the PTP synchronization
and data acquisition process, and more functions can be added as necessary.
10.6.4 Reduced General Purpose Functionality
Due to resource limitations in the Zynq, the following features are not available when the
PTP Ethernet PHY is used:
Gigabit Ethernet
The secondary Ethernet PHY operates only at 10/100 Ethernet.
10.7 White Rabbit Hardware Elements
The PZ-TIO supports implementation of the White Rabbit IP core in the PicoZed PL as
follows:
SFP card cage with appropriate connections to FPGA fabric and GTX data pins for
the 1Gbps Ethernet connection.
A number of specific SFP modules and cables are recommended by the White
Rabbit community for best performance, but any compatible SFP hardware should
work; the SFP implementation is generic.
Connector for WRclkDB, which implements the White Rabbit programmable
oscillators to clock FPGA fabric and/or the GTX interface(s). This daughterboard
contains the key circuitry to make White Rabbit work. Variations of this board may
be used to implement different White Rabbit clocking options, for example there are
sufficient I/O connections to implement the circuitry of the “low jitter” clock variant
with additional PLLs.
