If the problem occurs during scanning, an error message will appear on the touch
screen. Solve the problem as instructed in the message.

3. If the scanner is equipped with Front Return Guides, the original will exit to the front

of the machine. You may wish to guide the lead edge of the original as it travels
toward you.

TIP

Remove the Front Return Guides before copying an original that may not flex
and flow easily along them. This will prevent the guides from falling off of the
machine and getting damaged.

NOTE

The system will automatically assign a file name, “0000nnnn.xxx” (where “n” is
the sequential number assigned to the image file, and “xxx” is the selected file
type extension, e.g., TIFF, PDF, etc.).

NOTE

If the Preview Generation option on the Advanced Settings tab is enabled, a
thumbnail will be created in a JPG format for you.

Step 6: Stopping a Scan Job

Follow the procedure below to stop the scanning of an original.

• Press the Stop button while an original is being scanned or is just exiting the scanner.

Scanning will stop immediately.

NOTE

If you press the Stop button after the original completes its scan and printing
begins, the key press will have no effect. If this happens, refer to the section
below.

If the original is still in the scanner when scanning stops, a Clear Pathway message
will display. Remove the original by performing the steps listed on the Touch Screen
in the Message Display area.
