CAUTION:
Ensure patient’s arms are OUTSIDE of the SLING prior to lifting.
10. Have the patient hold the yellow handles on the handlebar. This keeps their arms in a SAFE position
for transfer.
11. CHECK the patient’s body alignment prior to lifting. Ensuring the patient and the lift are in alignment with
each other.
12. RAISE the LIFT ARM. Raise the patient to the desired height.
13. DO NOT leave the patient in a position where they are supported solely by the sling.
14. Move the lift to the location of intended transfer.
15. Position patient at intended receiving surface – the back of the patient’s legs should touch the receiving
surface. Wheels remain unlocked.
16. LOWER the LIFT ARM while ensuring the patient’s arc of decent will allow proper seating without shearing
action against their sacrum or spine.
17. Once the patient is securely seated (ensure the patient is not seated on the edge of the destination seat!)
REMOVE the SLING LOOPS from the sling hooks on the handlebar.
18. Move lift clear of the patient.
19. CLOSE LEGS.
20. REMOVE SLING.
21. BUNDLE SLING and store in desired location.
22. PLUG IN MAINS (plug into a wall outlet) to ensure battery is fully charged for next use.
