Attach right A-frame half (1) and left A-frame half (2) to
top hole of cutter mast by inserting hitch pin (14)
through top hole of cutter mast and placing sleeve (15),
washer (16), and nut (17) on hitch pin. Tighten nut (17)
to very tight; use a cheater bar. Install cotter pin (12) in
each nut. Install Klik pin (13) in each hitch pin.

Top Link and Pivot Arm Installation (MTD) 
(Figure 28)

. Top Link and Pivot Arm Installation (MTD)

Attach pivot arms (4) in top hole of mounting lugs on
rear cutter frame as shown with bolt (10), washer (11),
sleeve (3), lockwasher (12) and nut (13).

Place sleeves (5) in each slot of top link weldment as
shown. Install bolt (14) through top hole of pivot arm (4)
and through sleeve (5) in front slot. Place another bolt

(14) through next hole in pivot arm (4) and through
sleeve (5) in rear slot of top link weldment (6). Secure
both bolts with lockwasher (12) and nut (13).

Check Chain Installation (MTD)

(Figure 29)

Attach check chains (2) to cutter mast plate (4) with
bolt (5), washer (6) and nut (7) as shown. 

Install check chain brackets (3) on chain and secure
together with bolt (8) and nut (9). 

Attach brackets to tractor top link (1) when attaching
cutter to tractor
