Adjustment Installation (Figure 23)
Figure 23
. Attitude Rod, Hydraulic Cylinder, &
Ratchet Adjustment Installation - Pull-Type
Attach cylinder rod clevis to tailwheel height adjustment
post (7) with clevis pin (21) and secure with safety pin
(15). Extend cylinder rod and attach cylinder butt end to
frame attachment lug with clevis pin (21). Secure with
safety pin (15).
Use thread sealant on threads of bushing (17) and
screw into cylinder as shown. Install elbow (16) into
reducer bushing, using teflon pipe dope on the male
threads. Use care to prevent teflon pipe dope from
entering cylinder. Install hose (3) into elbow (16).
Ratchet adjustment link (10) may be installed in place
of hydraulic cylinder. Use same attaching hardware.
H-Frame Installation (Figure 25)
Attach H-frame (1) to cutter tongue. Place cup washer
(21) on bolt (19), then insert spacer (20) into H-frame
and install bolt through spacer. Place spacer (20) over
bolt, and secure with locknut (22).
Splined Telescopic Installation (Figure 24)
Secure driveline carrier bearing to H-frame with clevis
pin (14) and cotter pin (10). Refer to Operation section
for driveline height. Attach front third of driveline (3) to
rear two thirds of driveline (5) and tighten clamp bolt
(17) and nut (15).
Attach upper shield (4) to driveline carrier bearing with
lockwashers (12) and bolts (11).
Place hydraulic hose holder (2) on bolt (13) as shown.
Place spacer (16) inside H-frame and install bolt (13)
through H-frame. Secure with locknut (15).
1-1/2" Square Shaft Installation (Figure 25)
Slide front 2/3 of drive on the rear drive that was
attached to the gearbox. Locate drive carrier bearing
into H-frame and insert clevis pin (16) through H-frame
and carrier bearing. Secure with cotter pin (10).
Place hydraulic hose holder (2) on bolt (15) as shown.
Place spacer (18) inside H-frame and install bolt (15)
through H-frame. Secure with locknut (17).
Place shield strap (6) over shield support (5) as shown
and align to the rear holes of drive shaft shield (4).
Secure shield strap to shield with four stove bolts (11)
and nuts (12).
Attach shield strap in holes located in frame rails.
