Tensioning the Chains

Periodically check the tailer motor drive chain tension and adjust the as needed. The
chain needs to be adjusted if the chain slack exceeds 1" (25.4mm).

To check the motor drive chain tension, always make sure the motor is not running.
Loosen the two bolts securing the drive chain guard as shown below. Remove the guard
from the tailer.

See Figure 4-2.

The properly tensioned chain can be deflected 1/2" (12.7mm) in the center of the chain. If
necessary follow the instructions below.
