Tensioning the Chains

DANGER!

Always turn off and disconnect power supply

before performing any service to the machine. Failure to do
so may result in serious injury or death.

4.2

Tensioning the Chains

Adjust the infeed drive chain tension as needed. Locate the adjustment bolts at the front
of the tailer on both sides of the frame. Use the adjustment bolts to adjust the infeed drive
chain tension as described below.

See Figure 4-1.

To adjust the infeed drive chain tension:



Loosen the infeed drive chain bearing mounting bolts.



Turn the adjustment bolts counterclockwise to tension the infeed drive chain.



Turn the adjustment bolts clockwise to loosen the infeed drive chain.



Secure the adjustment bolts with the locking nuts when the chain tensioning proce-
dure is complete.
