5.2 Log function
This menu item is used to start the logger function, permitting to store up
to
4680 measurements
, each with a pressure value and two measured
temperatures (i. e. max. 14,040 measuring values). If the battery voltage falls
below a defined threshold value of 2 V (battery icon appears on the display),
the logger switches off automatically. It is recommended to check the battery
status under
Setup -> Batteries
, before the logger is started for a longer
period. The measuring values remain stored in the memory for
more than
10 years
, even without batteries. If you select the fastest scan mode (i. e. 30
seconds), you may perform measurements for max. 1 day and 15 hours (see
table 5.2.1). You may select the following scanning intervals under
Setup ->
Log rate
: 30 s, 1 min, 3 min, 10 min, 30 min and 1 h.

If you press the
C l/O key
in the logging mode, the DC 17 only indicates the
message
„Log“
, followed by the remaining storage space and the current
measuring values. The cursor is blocked for other commands. The logger
mode is finished by pressing the
C l/O key
on the device for 3 seconds. The
transmission of data to the PC is described in chapter 5.1.
5.3 Printing and transmitting the current measuring values
Use the menu item
Log/IR -> Measuring values
to print out the current
measuring values in logbook format (option
„Print“
) or to transmit the data to
the PC (option „Send“).
