You can also attach a hose with an inside diameter of 5 – 6 mm or a quick-
release connection, type DN 2.7, to the hose connections of the DC 17. We
recommend not to use silicone hoses for higher pressure ranges, since this
material starts to deteriorate if overpressure above 1 bar is applied, resulting
in leaks.
There are diffusion openings on the back of DC 17 for registering the internal
temperature (refer to fig. 2.2). The integrated temperature measurement is
also used for the temperature compensation of the pressure sensor. It is pos-
sible to convert the device into a precision temperature sensor with extended
measuring range (-19.9 °C to +99.9 °C) by externally connecting the combus-
tion-air temperature sensor A 500 (Cat. No. 9605), the combustion-air probe
A 500 (Cat. No. 9611) with 1.6 m cable, or the temperature measuring pliers
(Cat. No. 3619) for measuring the flow and return temperatures.
The measuring data is transmitted optically to the PC via the infrared interface
(Cat. No. 9631: serial, 9318: USB or 5038: Bluelink 500), thus permitting to
read out the logger.
