4.2 Injection Valve
1) Make sure that the sealing faces of the intermediate plate and the related faces in
the injection valve (3, Fig. 8 ):
D Are clean and dry
D Are in a satisfactory condition
D Have no lubricant.
Note: When you do the step below, make sure that the dowel pin engages with the
hole in the intermediate plate.
2) Put the nozzle body (4) together with the intermediate plate in position on the
injection valve (3).
3) Apply a thin layer of Never-Seez NBST-8 to the thread and seating face of the
coupling nut (2).
4) Attach the coupling nut (2) to the nozzle body (4) with your hand.
5) Refer to the formula that follows (for the related illustration see Fig. 8):

D TS = the applicable torque setting for the torque spanner.
D TT = the specified torque setting for the coupling nut and locknut.

D1 = the distance from the center of the square drive to the center of the
hand grip.
D D2 = the distance from the center of the square drive to the center of the
adapter.
6) Use the torque spanner (94011A) and the socket wrench insert (94269C − 46) to
torque the coupling nut (2) to 100 Nm. Set the torque spanner (94011A) to 88 Nm.

7) Use the slugging wrench (94269A − 46) and the cylinder on the test bench to add

the position of the coupling nut (2).
8) Apply a thin layer of Never-Seez NBST to the thread and seating face of the
locknut (1).
9) Attach the locknut (1) to the nozzle body (4) with your hand.
10) Use the torque spanner (94011A) and the socket wrench insert (94269C
− 36) to
torque the locknut (1) to 190 Nm.
11) Do a check of the injection valve, refer to paragraph 1.
