PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

2.3.  Electrical work

DANGER due to electrical voltage!

Improper procedures during electrical work

may result in fatal injuries caused by electric

shock! Such work may only be carried out by a

qualified electrician.

BEWARE of moisture!

Ingress of moisture into the cable will result

in damage to the cable and the lifting unit.

Never immerse the cable end in a liquid, and

make sure the cable end is protected against

the ingress of moisture. Strands that are not

used must be insulated!

The lifting units are operated with three-phase
current. The governing national directives, stand

-

ards and regulations (e.g. VDE 0100) as well as the

requirements of the local energy supply company
must be observed.

The person operating the lifting unit must know

where it is supplied with power and how to cut off
the supply. A residual-current-operated pro-

tection switch (RCD) must be provided. In lifting

units with free cable ends, a motor protection
switch must be installed on site for three-phase
AC motors.

The section entitled "Electrical connection" must
be observed when connecting the product. The
technical specifications must be observed strictly.
Lifting units must always be grounded.

If the lifting unit has been switched off by a

protective device, it must not be switched on

again until the fault has been corrected.

When connecting the lifting unit to the local
power supply, always comply with the national
regulations concerning electromagnetic compat-

ibility (EMC).

Connections may only be made if the connec-

tion meets the harmonised EU standards. Mo-

bile radio equipment may cause malfunctions in

the system.

BEWARE of electromagnetic radiation!

Electromagnetic radiation can pose a fatal

risk for people with cardiac stimulators. Put

up appropriate signs and make sure anyone

affected is aware of the danger!

2.4.  Safety and monitoring devices

The motor is equipped with a thermal winding
monitor. The lifting unit is switched off if this

gets too hot during operation.

The monitoring equipment is connected in the

switchgear at the factory.
Personnel must be informed about the installed
systems and how they work.

CAUTION!

The lifting unit is not allowed to be operated

if the winding monitoring has been removed,

is damaged and/or does not function!

2.5.  Behaviour during operation

When operating the lifting unit, always follow the
locally applicable laws and regulations for work
safety, accident prevention and handling elec-

trical machinery. To help to ensure safe working

practice, the responsibilities of employees should
be clearly set out by the end-user. All personnel
are responsible for ensuring that regulations are
observed.

2.6.  Fluids

The lifting unit chiefly collects and pumps waste

water containing faeces. As a result, changing to a

different fluid is not possible.

Use with potable water is not permitted!

2.7.  Sound-pressure level

Lifting units generate a sound-pressure level of
approx. 70 dB(A) during operation.
The sound-pressure level may also be higher

during operation depending on several factors

(such as installation, attachment of accessories
and piping, duty point, etc.).
Therefore, we recommend the that the end-user

should take an additional measurement at the
workplace once the lifting unit is running at its
duty point and under all operating conditions.

CAUTION: Wear ear defenders!

According to applicable laws and regula-

tions, ear protection must be worn if the

sound-pressure level is 85 dB(A) or more! The

end-user must make sure that this is complied

with!

2.8.  Guidelines used

This lifting unit is subject to

• Various EC directives,
• Various harmonised standards,
• Various national standards.

See the EC Declaration of Conformity for precise
details of the guidelines and standards used.
Also, various national regulations are used as a
basis for operating, installation and dismantling

the lifting unit. These include the German acci

-

dent prevention regulations, VDE regulations and

German Equipment Safety Law.

2.9.  CE marking

The CE marking on the rating plate, and the rating

plate is attached to the collection reservoir.

3.  Product description

The lifting unit has been manufactured with great

care and is subject to constant quality controls.
