6.2 Controller features
The Wilo-RAIN1 controller ensures:
ƒ
The start/stop of the pump according to the supplied water pressure and volume
flow.
ƒ
The rainwater storage tank float switch.
ƒ
The three-way valve, set by default on rainwater mode that switches the supply to
the city main water in the break tank if the rainwater level in the rainwater storage
tank is too low.
ƒ
The automatic switch to city main water mode for a duration of 3 minutes to renew
the water in the break tank in case it is not used for 3 consecutive weeks even if the
rainwater level in the rainwater storage tank is high.
Additional outputs are available to control optional devices or communication:
ƒ
An immersed rainwater storage tank pump (230 V, max. 3A) could be connected to
the controller (rep. 19) to overcome possible suction problems if the maximum suc-
tion head of the main pump is exceeded (rainwater storage tank too deep, pipe
length too high…). The zero-delivery head of the pump should not exceed 1 bar. The
rainwater storage tank pump is switched on, when the “rainwater” mode is activated
automatically or manually. Wilo offers pumps for such use cases. Please contact your
installer.
ƒ
A potential-free contact triggers an optional external alarm OR indicates a failure of
a main building management switchboard (rep. 18).
NOTICE
The rainwater storage tank pump and the external alarm are not supplied with the
system.
6.3 Controller interface
Wilo-RAIN1 is equipped with a display and LED lights to monitor the rainwater utilisa-
tion and set the system parameters according to the needs.
Basic menu settings
20 - Start and Stop button
If OFF is displayed, a short push on this key will restart the system.
If ON is displayed, a long push (>3 seconds) will stop the system.
21 - Reset
If the alarm is ON, a short push on this key allows reinitialising the system.
A long push (>3 seconds) allows a pump restart (as well as the cistern pump, if installed)
and hence to launch the system. CAUTION: This operation deactivates the dry-running
detection. The flow can be checked by looking at the indicator light (25).
22 - Parameters
Allow choosing the functioning mode (rainwater/AUTO/main water):
