Cut the pipes plane and parallel at a pressure of max. 20 bars.
In case of larger accumulation of cutting chips, abort planing; release both
joysticks and remove the chips.
Necessarily make sure that no chips are drawn in-between the planer
discs!

Plane the pipes until a revolving chip (2-3-times) has formed on both sides.

Drive the pipes apart, push the joystick for slides to: <
> until the cutting chip breaks off
and release the joystick for planer
only
then.

Swing the planer out of the machine, push the joystick for planer

>. Remove the
cutting chips and do not touch the processed surfaces.

Drive the pipe ends together; push the joystick for slides to: <

Check mismatch and gap at the abutting pipe ends. According to DVS 2207, mismatch at the
pipe outside must not exceed 0,1 x pipe wall thickness; the allowed gap must not exceed 1,5
mm for pipes with OD up to 1000 mm and 2 mm for pipes with OD >1000 mm.
You may compensate the mismatch by increase/decrease the clamping of each clamping
cylinder by pushing levers

Learn the aligning pressure for the pipe dimension to be welded from the table and add the
motion pressure.
•
Adjust the calculated pressure value at the pressure relief valve <
> and check the
pressure by pushing the joystick for slides to: <

Drive the slide apart again; push the joystick for slides to: <

•
Learn heating time, max. change-over time, cooling time and bead height for the pipe
dimensions to be welded from the table.

Drive the heating element to the position in the center of the pipe ends by pushing the joystick
for heating element

Swing the clean heating element and brought up to nominal temperature between the pipes;
push the joystick for heating element

•
Drive the pipes at the adjusted aligning pressure towards the heating element; push the
joystick for slides to: <

Having reached the prescribed revolving bead height, reduce pressure by pushing the
joystick for slides to: <

The heating time begins. Press the stop watch and compare the current time with the nominal
time taken from the table.
