13MM DRILL PRESS                                 ENG

7)

Keep the work area clean at all times. Cluttered areas around the

machine

can cause unexpected

accidents if the debris comes in contact with the moving parts of the

machine

.

8)

Keep the working surface clean to the workpiece being worked. Sharp-edged drilling chips/swarf

and objects can lead to injuries. Material mixtures are particularly dangerous. Light-alloy dust can burn
or explode.

9)

Use clamping devices, the quick-clamping device or a machine vice to clamp the workpiece. Do

not  drill  workpieces  that  are  too  small  to  clamp.  When holding  the  workpiece  by  hand,  you  cannot
secure it sufficiently against being turned, and injure yourself.

10)

Adjust  the  work table  before  each  use.  The  work table  should  be  tightened and  placed  at  the

proper  angle  for  the  drilling  job  before  the

machine

is put  into  use.  If  not  properly  adjusted,  the

workpiece can unexpectedly move causing the drill bit to seize resulting in damage to it or possible
severe injury to the operator.

11)

Set  the  correct  speed  before  beginning  to  work.  The speed  must  be  appropriate  for  the  drilling

diameter and  the  material  being  drilled.  When  the  speed  is  set  incorrectly, the  application  tool  can
become caught or jam in the workpiece.

12)

Do not use a drill bit that wobbles or vibrates. Visually inspect the drill bits before they contact the

work piece ensuring there are no side-to-side movements. Should the drill bit wobble from side-to-side
or if the tip appears broken, replace them immediately. If the vibration still exists, check the bearings
and the motor shaft and repair or replace them as soon as possible. Excessive vibration can cause
severe damage to both the work piece and the

machine

.

13)

Remove chuck keys and other adjustment tools from the areas around the

machine

before turning

the power switch to the “on” position.

14)

Guide the application tool toward the workpiece only when switched on. Otherwise, there is danger

of the application tool becoming caught or jamming in the workpiece, and the workpiece being dragged
along. This can lead to injury.

15)

Do not overload the machine. Allow the machine to run at full speed or close to full speed during

use

16)

Keep your hands out of the drilling area while the machine is running. Danger of injury in case of

contact with the application tool.

17)

Never remove drilling chips/swarf from the drilling area while the machine is running. Always guide

the motor unit to the idle position first, and then switch the machine off.

18)

Do not remove forming drilling swarf/shavings with your bear hands. Danger of injury in particular

through hot and sharp-edged metal swarf/shavings

19)

Break off long drilling swarf/shavings by interrupting the drilling procedure through brief reversing

of the feed handle. Danger of injury from long drilling swarf/shavings.

20)

Do not touch the application tool directly after the working process until after it has cooled down.

Application tools become very hot while working.

21)

Never leave the machine before it has come to a complete stop. Cutting tools that are still running

can cause injuries.

22)

Switch the machine off immediately when the application tool blocks.

23)

Properly support extra long or extra wide workpieces. Workpieces that are too long or extra wide

can tip and cause the drill bit to seize resulting in a sudden whipping motion resulting in damage to the
workpiece and machine as well as possible severe injury to the operator.

24)

Never perform drilling operations near flammable gas or liquids. The resulting fire and/or explosion

could cause permanent serious injuries to the operator and damage to the machine and surrounding
