WhitakerAudio

– Install the #6 screws and lockwashers in the two front-facing mounting holes of the power

management PWB. Leave the screws loose for now.

– Install the #6 screws in the two rear-facing mounting holes of the power management

PWB. Use a lockwasher on one screw and a ground lug on the other. Tighten all four

mounting screws.

– Mount a self-adhesive vinyl pad in the center of the foil side of the PWB. This will ensure

that the bottom chassis plate will not come into contact with the PWB.

– Find the black #22 wire connected to the GND post on the power management PWB.

Connect to one of the available ground lugs on the main ground point on the back panel.

Do not solder.

– Prepare a 3-inch black #18 wire. Connect one end to the available ground lug on the back

panel. Solder (4 wires). Connect the other end to the ground lug on the power management

PWB. Solder.

– Cut a 10-inch long #22 black wire. Attach quick-disconnect terminals to each end of the

wire. Connect one end of the wire to the

GND

post on the preamplifier PWB.

– Cut a 13-inch long #22 blue wire. Attach quick-disconnect terminals to each end of the

wire. Connect one end of the wire to the

V+

post on the preamplifier PWB.

– Twist the blue and black wires together and route toward the preamplifier daughterboard

PWB. Connect the black wire to the

GND

terminal on the preamplifier daughterboard.

Connect the blue wire to the

24Vdc

post on the preamplifier daughterboard. Make sure to

support the board while these connections are made.

The power management PWB has now been completed. Check to be sure that the board

mounts flat on the standoffs. It may be necessary to reorient the cable bundle under the board to

achieve a proper fit.

5.5.13 Feedback Circuit Cabling

Find the shielded audio cable. There are two conductors: the drain (shield) and the white

conductor. In all cases, the white conductor will be the signal-carrying wire. In all cases the drain

wire will be ground.
