5.16 – Brake Set
It is located on the Motor Support.
The Brake set is composed by: Spring, Brake Arm, Actuator
and Brake Band. When activated, it actuates on the
Gearcase Drum.
A – Brake Pin
B – Spring Brake
C – Motor Support
D– Gearcase Assembly
E – Brake Band
F – Actuator
G – Brake Arm
5.16.1 – Brake Actuator
It is responsible for the basket braking and the spinning movement.
TEST
1. Disconnect Wiring Harness terminals on Actuator;
2. With a Multimeter set in Resistance scale, measure actuator terminals:
Voltage on Actuator
Arm
Value (Ohms -
Ω
)
On traction
1411 to 1725
220V – 60Hz
At rest
2399 to 2932
3. Connect Actuator directly to the electric supply using a power cord. Actuator Arm must run complete
travel, with no locks.
Before changing Actuator check:
-
Continuity on Wiring Harness;
-
That there are no burrs causing locking between gears by moving Actuator arm several times to
eliminate them.
-
That Brake Spring, Cams and Traction Bar maintain traction over Actuator during Agitation.
DISMOUNTING
-
Remove the Spring from the
brake;
-
Disconnect the Brake arm from
the Actuator’s movable part;
-
Release the screws that fasten it
to the Motor Support.
