Maintenance After Extended Use 

 

 

 

 

Lubricating and Maintaining the Hedge Trimmer 

Sharpening the Cutting Bar 
The blades of the cutting bar must regularly  be checked for wear and 

sharpened if necessary. Dull blades will overload the hedge trimmer. 
Have worn cutting bars be sharpened by a skilled expert.

  

 

Lubricating the Angle Drive 
Do not operate the hedge trimmer without a sufficiently lubricated angle drive. 

Insufficient lubrication will shorten the service life of the unit. 
It is advisable to lubricate the angle drive every 15 to 20 hours of operation. 

Use Lithium machine grease. Suitable grease and grease guns can be 

purchased from Westfalia. 
Wipe the grease fittings clean and use the grease gun to add one or two shots 

of grease  to each grease filling. Do not use excessive force to insert the 

grease.

The angle drive of the string trimmer / brush cutter must be lubricated
