Operation
3. Turn the clutch knob counter clockwise in order to engage the drum.
4. Hook the load to be pulled. If the load does not have a suitable eye for
hooking, use a chain or a belt in order to create loop. Do not wind the steel
cable around the load to be pulled. Make sure the steel cable is not creased,
knotted or damaged.
5. After fastening the load, tension the steel cable a little bit by pressing the
respective button on the remote control.
6. Check once more all connections and start pulling the load. Keep away from
the winch while in operation. Always check the direction of the drum turning.
7. After work, secure the load, release the steel cable a little bit and remove the
hook from the load.
8. When rewinding the steel cable, lightly tension it and re-spool over the entire
length of the winch drum. Make sure the cable will run uniformly. Only handle
the steel cable with gloves.
Recovering a Vehicle
When mounting the winch on a vehicle, secure the traction vehicle against
rolling off. Put the vehicle in gear, apply the parking brake and ideally use
additional blocks under the tires.
Secure the vehicle to be pulled, too. Never move the traction vehicle with the
mounted winch while recovering another vehicle. Due to the tractive force of
the vehicle and the force of the winch, the steel cable can tear off.
If possible, do not operate the winch on a vehicle with a running engine. Make
sure the battery is fully charged. Please keep in mind that the battery will be
discharged while pulling a load.
Retrieving a Boat
Position the trailer as far as possible into the water so that the boat can be
pulled in swimming method onto the trailer.
When the boat is positioned directly above the trailer, drive out the trailer from
the water and securely retrieve the boat on the trailer.
Hints on proper Operation of the Winch
Correct winding of the steel rope is essential of the next use. When spooling
the steel rope make sure the angle of pull does not exceed 15° in order to
avoid the steel cable to stack up on one end of the drum. If necessary,
completely spool out the steel rope and evenly and neatly rewind it.
