Cleaning and care of the TENS/EMS device
60
Medical devices must comply with IEC60601-1-2 regarding in-
terference immunity and emissions.
Special precautionary measures must be observed, however:
• The use of parts and wires other than those specified
by the manufacturer may cause excessive emissions or
reduce the interference immunity of the equipment. This
excludes lead wires and replacement parts for internal
components which are sold by the manufacturer.
• Medical devices should not be operated on, under, or near
other devices. If operation of the device on/under/near
other devices is unavoidable, the medical device must be
tested for normal function in the configuration to be used.
• Information on the EMC environment in which this product
should be used can be found in the EMC electric conduc-
tance table.
Cleaning and care of the TENS/EMS
device
The TENS/EMS device should not be placed in direct sunlight or
on hot surfaces.
Do not clean the TENS/EMS device when it is switched on and/
or when the adhesive electrodes are connected.
Clean the surfaces of the TENS/EMS device gently with a soft,
slightly dampened cloth. Make sure that no liquids penetrate
the housing. A mild cleaning agent may be used for stubborn
dirt. Clean the TENS/EMS only when it is switched off. Remove
the batteries before cleaning the device. Allow the TENS/EMS
device to dry thoroughly. Do not use chemical or abrasive
cleaning agents for cleaning the TENS/EMS device or the adhe-
sive electrodes.
For hygienic reasons, do not share the adhesive electrodes
with other users.
