3.1.6 Installing the probe assembly
Requirements:
• Ensure that you use a probe assembly appropriate for your application. For example, using
an ESI probe assembly with an APCI probe adapter compromises instrument performance.
Use the part number on the identification label to verify the probe assembly type.
• Ensure that the probe adapter is installed on the source, with the probe adapter cap removed.

• To minimize delays and dispersion, select the shortest probe assembly to connect the diverter
valve to the probe.
Notice:
Do not adjust the length of the probe assembly. Cutting the PEEKsil tubing
renders the probe assembly unusable.
