16.6 Mounting kit for mountable vernier scales for 2 axes and spindle Y-axis
16.6.3 Mounting the mountable vernier scale Y-axis
1. Use the hand crank (4.4) to move the top slide (1) all the way to the right; this achieves better access to the
installation point of the mountable vernier scale (29)
2. Hold the mountable vernier scale (29) on its bracket (16).
3. The rear holes in the display of the mountable vernier scale (29) must align with the holes in the vernier scale
bracket (30). Shift the display adequately for this
4. Use the screws (31) to screw the display of the mountable vernier scale (29) through the vernier scale (30) bracket
from below
5. Tighten the screws hand tight using a Phillips head screwdriver
6. Align the fastening holes of the mountable vernier scale (29) with those of the bracket for mountable vernier scale
(16).
7. Fit the washers (20) onto the screws (21) and insert the screws into the fastening holes of the mountable vernier
scale (29).
8. Slide the 2 serrated washers (19) onto the screws (21) from below
9. Use the 2 nuts (18) to screw everything together hand tight
10. Use the hand crank (5.4) to move the Y-axis to the two end positions of the mountable vernier scale (29)
11. Then tighten the respective screws (21) and nuts (18). This process enables the mountable vernier scale (29) to be
optimally positioned.
12. For the final tightening of the screws, hold the two nuts (18) tight with a 7 mm spanner and use a 3 mm hexagon
socket wrench to tighten the two screws (21)
13. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to tighten the 2 screws (31) on the display of the mountable vernier scale (29)
14. Then use the hand crank (5.4) to move the Y-axis to the two end positions of the mountable vernier scale (29) and
check the mountable vernier scale for ease of movement
