13.2.3 Exchanging the moving upper knife
The upper knife should be exchanged when it is blunt or no longer cuts
cleanly. When sewing over metal needles, the upper and lower knife must
be exchanged immediately. This is not covered by warranty. Attention:
The sewing of elastic or polyester fabrics
may lead
to a higher
rate of
wear of the
knives
. This is not covered by warranty.
Prerequisite:
• A sharp upper knife is ready for use.
• A screwdriver is ready for use
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to an unexpected start-up
The foot controller is on the floor. This can lead to the overlocker starting up
unexpectedly if the foot controller is activated by, for example, a child, a
sufficiently heavy pet, an object or accidental contact.
► Always unplug the
device from the mains
before exchanging the
upper
knife
.
Please follow the steps below
:
1.
Open the front cover.
2.
Bring the upper knife to the working position. See

3.
Loosen and remove the attachment screw of the upper knife.
4.
Turn the hand wheel forwards (towards you) until the knife carrier is in the
lowest position.
5.
Place the new upper knife in the groove of the knife carrier and fasten by
means of the screw.
» The moving upper knife has been exchanged.
