The term “Host Device” is used throughout this User Guide. It refers to the device providing an
audio/video feed to the eyewear. Many AR applications use a Windows PC as their host device
but content can also be served from a variety of other HDMI equipped host devices including
mobile phones, tablet, Blu-ray players or set-top entertainment and gaming systems.
AR processing requires a host device able to accept the AR camera feed, process the data and send
the content out to the STAR eyewear through the host device’s HDMI port.
Note:
The STAR’s camera and tracker components are not compatible with HDMI equipped host
devices that do not provide compatible data input ports and/or drivers.
