8. PUTTING INTO OPERATION AND USE
a) Connection and Operation
A low-power device mains cable with earth contact (not included in the delivery) is required for connection
of the lab mains adapter.
• If required, fold the front feet at the bottom of the lab mains adapter out downwards to easily set up the lab
mains adapter leveled on top.
• Place the lab mains adapter on a firm and level surface.
• The on/off switch must be in the „OFF“ position.
• Plug the low-power device plug into connection (19) on the rear of the device and the mains plug in a mains
socket with 230 V/50 Hz alternating current.
• Switch on the lab mains adapter by pressing the on/off switch (16). The operating control display (15) lights up
and indicates correct voltage supply to the lab mains adapter.
• The lab mains adapter is now ready for operation.
b) Setting the Voltages at the Outputs
For the correct output voltage to be set, the lab mains adapter output must be operated in voltage-controlled
condition. The LED display for active overvoltage cut-off „OVER VOLTAGE“ (10) must not be lit. For more
information on this, see the following section: „d) Adjusting the Overvoltage Cut-Off“
• Turn the rotary control for output current limitation (4) clockwise until the red LED (8) for current limitation „CC“
goes out and the green LED (6) for voltage control display „CV“ lights up.
• Then set the desired output voltage with the rotary control for voltage settings (3).
• Turning the control clockwise increases the voltage at the corresponding output (5). If the controller is turned
counter-clockwise, the voltage is reduced. Since the control can be turned by 360° several times, fine
adjustment of the precise voltage value is easily possible.
• The voltage applied to the corresponding output is indicated in the corresponding display „V“ (2).
For the voltage outputs „3 - 6 V“ that do not show any permanent voltage and current values, the pushbutton for
switching the current and voltage display (12) must be pressed and held to switch the display to the respective
output. (Please also observe the notes in the operating elements list.)
Keep the pushbutton for switching the current and voltage display (12) pressed as long as required to set the
desired voltage value. Turning the rotary control for setting the voltage (3) clockwise from the left stop to the right
one increases the voltage at the corresponding output (5). If the control (3) is turned counter-clockwise, the
voltage is reduced.
