• Under ‘Velocity of Propagation’ in the function menu, select the ‘VOP
TEST’ sub-menu item (see section ‘d) Selecting the function menu
and functions’). The VOP measuring interface appears on the LC
display (4).

Confirm the ‘Length’ row with
SET
button (7). The length indicator is highlighted.
• Press the (1) or (8) button to set the known/measured cable length.
•
Confirm with the
TEST OK
button (3) to start the measurement on the cable at the same
time. The measured VOP value is displayed.
To save the measured result, proceed as follows:
• Press the (1) or
(8) button to select the name row and confirm with the
SET
button (7).
• Enter a name for the dataset in the ‘Name:’ row. To select alphanumeric characters for name
entry, press the (1) or (8) button.

(1) selects the figures 0 to 9 in a loop.

(8) switches the alphabet letter loop.

As soon as you have a set a character in the name, confirm the selection with the
SET
button (7).
• To delete a character before the cursor, press the toggle button (coax/network) cable (2).
The cursor jumps back one step. Press repeatedly to select additional characters to delete.

You can enter up to 6 characters for the name. Close entry by confirming with the
TEST
OK
button (3).
• Use the (1) or (8) button to enter the ‘Type:’ row to select the cable type for the dataset.
The row is highlighted.

Briefly press the
SET
button (7) to confirm. Use the
(1) or (8) button to select the ‘Data’
or ‘Coaxial’ cable type and confirm the selection with the
TEST OK
button (3).
• Select the ‘Producer:’ row by pressing the (1) or (8) button. Set the manufacturer data
in the same way as outlined above.
• Select the ‘Impedance:’ row with the (1) or
(8) button and confirm with the
SET
button (7). Use the (1) or (8) button to select one of the possible impedance values (51,
75 or 100 Ohm) and confirm with the
TEST OK
button (3).
