e) Audible continuity test
Make sure that the circuit components, circuits and components to be measured or any other
measuring objects are voltage-free and discharged.
The acoustic continuity is used to quickly check electrical circuits for continuity. If the resistance is <200 ohm, a beep
sounds. No measured value is shown.
Proceed as follows to conduct a continuity check:
- Turn the rotary switch to the measuring function

- Connect the black test lead to the COM socket (6) and the red test lead to the V/Ω
socket (7).
- Make sure that the “Vrms/Vp-p” button (9) is not pressed.
- The scale display has no function in the acoustic continuity check.
- Connect both test leads to the measuring object (component, circuit, etc.).
- If the resistance is <200 ohm, a beep sounds.
- After measurement, turn the rotary switch to position “OFF” to turn off the multimeter.
