7. GETTING STARTED
A rechargeable battery is integrated in the energy cost measuring device, which is used
to operate/programme the device without having to plug it into a mains socket.
The rechargeable battery is normally in an uncharged state upon delivery/start-up. The
entire charging procedure may take several hours.
Therefore, the energy cost measuring device can only be operated/programmed when it
is plugged directly into a mains socket upon start-up.
You can unplug the energy cost measuring device from the mains socket and
programme it e.g. in sufficient light in the living room or office only when the battery is
sufficiently charged (after about 1 hour).
For energy saving reasons, the display light only works when the energy cost measuring
device is plugged into a mains socket.
• Disconnect a load that may be connected from the energy cost measuring device.
• Plug the energy cost measuring device into a household grounded mains socket (230 V/AC,
50 Hz).
• If the load you want to connect to the energy cost measuring device has a mains switch,
switch it off.
• Plug the mains plug of the load into the grounded mains socket on the front of the energy
cost measuring device.
• Switch the load on and wait a few seconds until the energy cost measuring device shows the
first measured data.
Before you can use all functions of the energy cost measuring device, you must first
make a few settings (e.g. time, electricity tariff).
