7.4 Self-Diagnosis
To test the VAS 5054A, you can run a self-diagnosis by selecting
VAS5054 Self-Diagnosis
on
the
Administration
menu of the diagnostic application.
The self-diagnosis routine tests important functions of the VAS 5054A.
The successful completion of the self-diagnosis is indicated by
OK
.
If an error occurs, an error number followed by
n.i.O
(Not OK) is displayed.
The following table shows the error causes assigned to the individual error numbers:

The self-diagnosis also checks the connection to the PC:
When you have connected the VAS 5054A with the supplied USB cable, the function of the
USB interface is tested.
When you have connected the VAS 5054A via Bluetooth, the function of the Bluetooth
interface is tested. This requires a configured Bluetooth connection.
To ensure proper execution of the self-diagnosis, make sure that the vehicle bus is connected
according to the bus specification and that the pins are open.
Note
For technical reasons the self-diagnosis can only test important functions
of the VAS 5054A.
