3.2.1 Control system of the VTX series
Figure 1: Complete overview of a control with gateway for
two rooms
Figure 2: Smallest possible control of a heating element
The controls for indoor heating comfort consist of a room
thermostat with weekly programming with adaptive control
of the heating start and radio receiver as well as an optional
window contact and/or gateway.
The VTX-SP room thermostat measures the room
temperature and sends this value to the radio receiver. The
room thermostat can be used to select the operating mode
of the room temperature control (Auto, Comfort, Lowered,
Frost Protection, Party, Holiday and Off) and to alter the
respective set point and system settings. It also displays the
current status of the room temperature control.
The VTX-E or VTX-EU radio receiver switches the heating
element based on the current room temperature and the
predefined set point. The status of the window contact(s) is
checked in the process: If at least one window is opened, the
predefined set point is overridden and frost protection is set.
A radio receiver can receive a set point specification from
several sources (room thermostat and gateway). The last
radio report is valid and overwrites the previously valid set
point.
The VTX-FA or VTX-FU window contact signals to the radio
receiver whether the window is open or closed.
The mobile phone or tablet with the downloaded Tydom app
communicates with the gateway both inside as well as
outside the building via the router. The app allows you to
read the current room temperature, change a set point,
create a weekly programming, etc. The manually changed set
points or the set points that are activated via the weekly
programming are sent to the respective radio receiver by the
gateway. This overrides the previously valid set point setting
of the connected room thermostat.
The Tydom app allows you to control your Vitramo heating
system either remotely or from your home. All you need is a
mobile phone or tablet with Android or iOS.
Some features are:
•
Several residences are possible: Home, office and holiday
apartment.
•
Add radio receivers and divide them into groups.
•
Create and edit a weekly programming with set points
per radio receiver.
The weekly programming of the set points can be stored and
run both in the gateway and in a room thermostat. We
recommend storing the weekly programming in only one
device. If you prefer to operate the app, the weekly
programming should be stored in the gateway.
