INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND CARE
VIVO | VILLEROY & BOCH COOKWARE
Congratulations on the purchase of your vivo | Villeroy & Boch
cast iron casserole.
We hope you will enjoy the use of this cookware for a very long time. The
following tips will help you to use it in the best possible way and to keep it retain
its beauty for the longest time.
BEFORE FIRST USE
• Remove any sticker or other packaging material and wash the pan in hot soapy
water using a standard detergent and a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse off and dry
thoroughly after washing.
• We recommend applying a small amount of cooking oil to the casserole before
using it the first time to enhance the non-stick properties.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
• The pan is suitable for use on all hob types and is oven-safe.
• Not suitable for microwave use.
• Always lift the pan when moving it on a glass or ceramic hob. Do not pull it
across the hob, to avoid the risk of scratching.
• The oil, fat or butter you use should completely cover the base of the pan before
heating begins.
• Medium or low heat will provide the best results for cooking, including frying
and searing. Allow the pan to heat gradually for even and efficient cooking
results. Once the pan is hot, almost all cooking can be continued on lower
settings.
• For deep frying, the maximum oil level must not exceed 1/3 full. This depth
allows sufficient height above the oil for it to rise once food is added. An oil
frying thermometer should be used for safety, and a lid should be readily
available in case of overheating or flaring.
• Do not leave the pan unattended, and do not allow a pan to boil dry, as this may
permanently damage the enamel. Avoid scratching the enamelled surface.
• Cast iron handles and stainless steel knobs will become hot during stovetop
and oven use. Always use oven mitts or pot holders when lifting or moving the
pan or lid.
• We recommend the use of silicone or wooden kitchen utensils. Do not cut food
inside the pan with knives or other sharp utensils.
