3. Operation
3.1 Notes on controls and handling
There are dangers connected to improper use of power devices,
especially those used in livestock farming. Before operating the device
for the first time, you should adhere to the following measures in order to
prevent accidents.
⚫
The network voltage must be the same as indicated on the technical
plate. The device is to be connected only to AC power supply.
⚫
Avoid contact with moving shearing blades.
⚫
Even when the device is in OFF position, you should not handle the
shearing blade while connected to the power supply. Always
disconnect the device from the power supply (pull the plug from
outlet) before handling the shearing blades/ shearing head.
⚫
Avoid contact with devices having contact with any type of liquids.
Never use the device on wet animals. Any liquid penetrating the
device shall diminish the electrical insulation.
⚫
There is danger from electrical shock or short circuit. Only clean the
clipper when dry, using a brush or enclosed cleaning brush.
⚫
The loose power cable on the ground, at any distance, may become
tangled and a source of danger. Before switching the shearing
clippers on, lay down the cable carefully and safely. Avoid and
prevent tangling of the power cable. Make sure that animals do not
stand or step on the cable or become tangled in the cable. Do not
wrap the power cable around the device and keep the cable away
from hot surfaces and objects. This may lead to tearing and damage
of the insulation. Regularly check the cable for damage.
⚫
Switch off the device (O position, Figure 2) before pulling the plug
from the outlet.
