3.2 Adjusting the clippers by locknut
Before starting the device, make the following adjustments:
⚫
Use the original clipping blades only. Never use damaged clipping
blades with blunt, missing or broken teeth. Operate the device with
sharp blades only.
⚫
Be aware of foreign objects (wires, pieces of wood, etc) in the fleece
and remove them before clipping.
⚫
Wear suitable working clothes. Never wear wide (hanging) clothes or
jewelry which may be caught by moving parts of the device. We
recommend wearing safety goggles and ear protection.
⚫
Never insert foreign objects into openings on the device.
⚫
Noise from the device may disturb the animals. A kick or the body
weight of the animal can lead to serious injuries. Secure the animal
sufficiently, approach the animal from the front and turn on the
device so that the operation is observed by the animal.
⚫
Clip the animal only when unauthorized persons are away from the
clipping area.
⚫
Use the clipper in properly ventilated areas (due to the present dust)
and never clip in the vicinity of objects or gases which may explode.
These safety notes must be observed in all the cases. The use of outlets
with a switch is recommended when working with electrical equipment.
Before the shearing:
With a device set to OFF, make sure that the conical pins of the pressure
clamp are precisely inserted into position openings on the clipping blade
(Figure 3, Item 2). Tighten the locknut until you feel resistance (Figure 3,
Item 1). Then tighten the locknut for another 1/4 of a turn. Start
operating the shearing device. Loosen the locknut (Figure 6) until the
shearing blades have almost no contact pressure (the noise level
increases).
Attention! If the locknut is too loose, the blade may fly out causing the
injury. Slowly tighten the locknut until the noise level is reduced and
resistance is felt. The pressure should be properly adjusted now. Start
the shearing. If the shearing is still inadequate, you should tighten a bit
more.
