REVIEW
• Do not thread, groove, or drill into Victaulic FireLock CPVC Sprinkler
System Pipe.
• Do not use any other solvent cement, thread sealant, or gasket lubricant,
unless it has been specifically recommended for use with Victaulic Fire-
Lock CPVC Sprinkler System Products. Check expiration dates.
• Always use tools specifically designed for plastic pipe and fittings. Do
not use ratchet type cutters in temperatures below 50°F.
• To estimate the required amount of solvent cement needed, refer to the
Solvent Cementing section.
• PVA-coated protective gloves are recommended for use while solvent
cementing. If hands come in contact with solvent cement, use a water-
less abrasive soap. When solvent cementing, avoid sources of heat or
open flames, and DO NOT smoke.
• Always chamfer and deburr CPVC pipe ends prior to installation.
• Avoid getting solvent cement in sprinklers and threads.
• When bottoming a joint, rotate the pipe

turn. If a specific alignment is
required, dry mark the pipe and/or use quarter marks on fittings.
• Do not bend, twist or pressure test a CPVC fire sprinkler system until the
required cure times have been met.
• Refer to the “Expansion and Contraction” section for information when
large temperature changes are encountered.
• Air shipment of cement is strictly prohibited by law.
