systems. It is recommended that monthly inspection is done by the user and all the others
are performed by the trained professional personnel or companies.
It should be checked that there have been no unauthorized changes to the system
configuration (e.g. Sensitivity). If changes are required or have taken place, then these must
be documented.

Check the Power Supply (UPS)
a.
Check the DC input voltage using a meter to make sure the power is within normal
range.
o
Check the Device Display
a.
Press the <Test> button (if it’s enabled) to check if all the LEDs on the display illuminates
normally.
o
Check the Air Flow
a.
Use VDOT-ASD-100 front panel display or Management System computer software to
check and record the airflow readings.
b.
Compare the reading to history record to see if there’s significant change. Airflow
reading during maintenance should be confirmed as ± 20% of the values measured at
commissioning
c.
Inspect the sampling pipe to see if there is pipe breakage or hole blockage if there’s
significant change in readings.

End Cap Smoke Test
a.
Introduce smoke to the pipe end.
