Universal Control Mode
Cascade control
Instead of using a setpoint as the control target, we can use the output of the temperature control loop as setpoint.
This is for example used for VAV controllers. Enable 1U-00 to activate cascade control.
Universal Control Mode: PI-Control
1U-02, 1U-03 = Enable reverse and direct operation. The controller reads the selected input value, and maintains it
by calculating the appropriate output signal. The control function used is PI control.
Control parameters:
1U-01 Dead Zone Span for Universal Loop 1. The direct acting setpoint w
D
consists of the reverse acting setpoint and
the dead zone span. The factory setting for the dead zone span is 0.
1U-04: Direct acting P-band. Range depends on the selection of the input. Selecting 0 disables the P part.
1U-05: Reverse acting P-band. Range depends on the selection of the input. Selecting 0 disables the P part.
1U-06: Maximum limit of I-part: A large I part increases the swinging tendency of the control loop. Limiting the
integral part may reduce this tendency. The I-part is disabled if 0 is selected.
1U-07: Reset time of integral: Tn is the time needed for the integral to run from 0 to 100%. The range is 0.5 – 30
min. The setting depends on the application and the actuators involved. It should be at least 1.2 times the reaction
time of the control cycle.

2-point control
This control mode is enabled by parameter 1U-08 for the reverse signal and 1U-09 for the direct signal.
2-point control is used to control single stage devices, for example in order to maintain pressure, water levels,
humidity, etc.
Control parameters:
1U-10: The hysteresis defines the span required for the output to switch on again after being switched off. The aim
is to avoid unnecessary switching thus increasing the life span of involved equipment as well as saving energy. The
range depends on the selection of input.

Temperature Input
The TCY includes a NTC-based passive temperature sensor with 1% accuracy. It is possible to use an external sensor
of the same kind by connecting it to the two terminal connectors. Specified accuracy can only be guaranteed by
using a manufacturer approved temperature sensor. Contact your dealer for details. The active sensor needs to be
selected by setting a slide switch, which is located at the back of the operation terminal.
