3 Description of the machine
3.1 Operating principle
The machine is operated via the control panel with an interactive (touchscreen) display.
Products packed and hermetically sealed in shrink bags are fed into the machine either manually
or via a belt or roller conveyor, e.g. from a VC999 packaging machine.
When the photoelectric sensor attached on the infeed side of the machine detects an incoming
product, the conveyor belt (wire mesh conveyor belt) integrated in the machine is started by the
controller. The products are transported through the machine lying on the wire mesh conveyor belt
(Also see throughput schematics Fig. 10/5 and Fig. 10/6).
The blower system is also switched on as soon as the conveyor belt is activated. This consists of
air knives that create an air jet in the machine from above and below to form an air curtain. The
overhead suspension of the upper air knife is also referred to as a bar. The products on the belt
travel through this air curtain. The dried packages are then discharged from the machine.
Various belt or roller conveyors are optionally available for feeding products into and out of the
machine.
