8. Works before first Start-Up
Before the arrival of the VC999 Customer Service the
customer should carry out the following work:
•
Electrical Connection (Chapter 8.1)
•
Compressed Air Connection (Chapter 8.2)
•
Water Connection (Chapter 8.3)
•
Steam Connection (Chapter 8.4)
•
Installing Steam Exhaust Pipe (Chapter 8.5)
•
Connect Drain for Water (Chapter 8.6)
•
Connect Water Overflow (Chapter 8.7)
•
Clean the Machine (Chapter 8.8)
8.1 Electrical Connection
WARNING
Electrical hazard! Danger of death –electric shock!
The machine may only be connected to the power
supply by a qualified expert (electrician) and in
compliance with local regulations!
The machine is supplied without connecting cable.
This 4-core connecting cable (3 E) should
be measured by the electrician and connected to the
main switch.
The cable is brought into the machine from above
through the conduit gland (Fig. 1, Pos. 1) or from
below through the opening in the machine. In this
case the conduit gland (Fig. 1, Pos.
1) must be
exchanged for the closure plug in the main switch
box.
As well an earth potential differential cable has to be
installed. The wire must have the same section as the
main cable wire. A special terminal (54) is prepared
left of the air service unit.

Check whether the local supply voltage, frequency
and fuse protection conform with the data on the
type label (19) or the technical data in chapter 4. If
not the machine should not be connected.
NOTICE
If the direction in which the platform moves does not
correspond to the installation of the equipment the
machine should be switched off and 2 or 3 phases of
the motor driving the platform have to be
interchanged.
NOTICE
The first switch-on of the machine must only be
done by the VC999 Customer Service.
8.2 Compressed Air Connection
•
Remove back panel (22).
•
Push the compressed air hose (ID 9 mm) on to the
nipple of the compressed (31) air maintenance unit
and secure with a hose clip.

Replace back panel (22).
NOTICE
To keep to a minimum the amount of condensate
entering the service unit or the point of use an air
dryer must be installed in the air supply line.
Otherwise a water-trap at least is necessary. The
condensate which collects in the sight-glass (33) of
the service unit is vented automatically through the
valve (34) at every switch-on.
