6.1 STORAGE
Store the pump under cover wherever possible. If the pump must be stored in the open, cover it with a tarpaulin.
Prevent moisture from building up around the pump.
Do not leave the pump casing full of liquid. Drain it by means of the relevant cover (1 Fig. 3), installed especially for this purpose,
by unscrewing the bolts holding it shut. During winter months and in cold weather, the liquid could freeze and seriously damage
the pump. If the liquid is hazardous, take all necessary precautions to avoid damage and injury before draining the pump casing.
At regular intervals, turn the shaft to prevent encrustation inside the pump.
7 INSTALLATION
If the pump supplied is the version not mounted on a trailer, the base plate of the pump unit must be anchored on a solid levelled
concrete slab into which anchor bolts have been embedded following the layout available on request. The slab must be heavy
duty to absorb any vibration and rigid enough to maintain the alignment of the pump with the engine.
Trailer-mounted pumps must be placed in as horizontal a position as possible.
7.1 ASSEMBLY
When anchoring the base plate to the slab, we recommend you check levelness with the aid of a level placed on top of the

7.2 PIPEWORK
Clean pipework thoroughly before connecting it to the pump. Suction pipes must have the same diameter as the pump’s suction
port (for larger diameters, seek VARISCO SpA’s advice). Where possible, avoid curves, elbows or constrictions liable to limit the

the length of the suction pipe (Fig. 7).

Check pipework and relevant quick couplers for damage at regular intervals.

The delivery pipe must be positioned to avoid parts sticking out, which can be dangerous.
Lift the pump by the upper part of the roll bar only (11 Fig. 1).
