Step 3. Slide lens assembly onto lens barrel shafts.
Step 4. Using snap ring pliers, at each barrel shaft, install a new 1/4"
retaining ring. Be sure to install rings with flat side down.
Note: The wide field lens barrel is manufactured from metal rather than
plastic and is heavier than the narrow field lens. When replacing a narrow
field lens with a wide field, a counterweight will need to be installed to
maintain luminaire balance.
Step 5. If necessary, install counterweight ( Figure 2-1 ):
a. At luminaire back cap, remove 1/4-28 captive screw securing
lamp assembly to head assembly. Carefully slide out lamp
assembly.
b. Using screwdriver, disconnect tether.
CAUTION: Wear cotton gloves when handling lamp.
c. If cap does not have a counterweight mounting hole, drill a
mounting hole as follows:
1) Carefully remove lamp from lamp socket.
2) Place counterweight in back cap, observing proper orien-
tation.
3) With counterweight in place, drill 0.201" diameter hole
through back cap. (Be careful not to damage lamp wires
or lamp socket assembly.)
4) Re-install lamp in lamp socket.
d. Using screwdriver, secure counterweight to back cap with a
10-32x7/8" PPB screw and 10-32 KEPS nut.
e. Reconnect tether.
f. Carefully re-install lamp assembly.
Step 6. Re-assemble luminaire.
