This procedure covers only the hanging of the luminaire. To install other
related system components, refer to the System Installation and Checkout
Manual (02.3004.0200).

To hang a VL6 luminaire:

Step 1. Determine hanging orientation. Refer to

“Luminaire Orientation

and Placement” on page 47

. Ensure the following:

a. The structure (truss) is secure and capable of supporting total

luminaire load.

b. Sufficient clearance space is provided for each luminaire.

Refer to

“Spacing Requirements” on page 48

.

Step 2. Hang luminaire from pipe. Hand-tighten wing bolt securely.

Step 3. Loop safety cable around pipe two or three times, leaving as little

slack as possible and attach clip to opposite side of pan tube.
Ensure that safety cable will not interfere with luminaire
movement.

Step 4. Once position of luminaire is determined, it is a good idea to

mark each clamp position with PVC tape in case luminaire has to
be removed from pipe and replaced.

Step 5. Connect luminaire input cable to Smart Repeater unit. Make sure

to use correct length of lamp run extension cables to avoid excess
cabling. Also avoid using many short lamp run extension cables
