RS1 and RSV connection points to the processor board. Vantage’s new thermostat
does
not
and
cannot use
the processor board used in the old setup.
b. In the new setup, simply bypass the processor board and connect the remote sensor
directly to the new thermostat, i.e.,
RS OUT
and
RS GND
or
RS IND
and
RS GND
(see
examples next pages)
4. How to connect multiple External Indoor Sensors for temperature averaging to
Vantage’s new Thermostat.
a. Only one external
outdoor
sensor may be connected to each new thermostat.
b. Only
one
,
four
or
nine
external
indoor
sensors may be connected to each new thermostat.
c. Temperature averaging, using multiple external indoor sensors must be wired in
series/parallel configurations
with the new thermostat.
See pages 38 & 39 for wiring
diagrams
.
5. How to connect Vantage’s new Thermostat to a Q-ETS that only has two wires between
the Q-ETS and the thermostat, instead of three wires used with the new Q-ETS3.
The Q-ETS
must be replaced
with a new Q-ETS3
6. The new thermostat is available in one model only, how does replacement work for the
three different models available in the old thermostat?
The new thermostat may be configured through its internal Setup Menu to be the equivalent
of any of Vantage’s old Thermostat models. Please see this Operation and Installation Manual
for details.
7. Does the new thermostat have to be configured again in software?
No, unless the Q-ETS3 is replaced. The configuration serial number is in the Q-ETS3, not the
thermostat.
